Street-to-Class Fund Walk Volunteer opportunity

Street-to-Class Fund aims to finance the education and rehabilitation of street children in Kenya by establishing a center where they would be absorbed and provided with education and rehabilitation. One of the main platforms for bringing the different players together is the annual STC Fund Dinner and Walk. The Walk will take place on the 13 of April 2019 between Upperhill and CBD a distance of 10km.

We therefore wish to have 25 volunteers who would play roles in the April Walk. These could comprise of students who are almost done with their studies or those who have just concluded their studies and are not actively engaged in employment.

Duties:

Among the roles that volunteers would be expected to play include:

  • promotional activities,
  • registering participants,
  • marketing and distributing event materials,
  • maintaining records,
  • encouraging participation,
  • collaborating with other members to ensure effectiveness, and
  • other roles that would be incidental to the event.

Remuneration:

Volunteers would be remunerated depending on their overall achievement. Every successful registration will attract a remuneration of KES 100/- plus an additional 5% of the overall value (total number) of registrations. Upon conclusion of the event, a select few who will have offered exemplary service, may have their period of engagement extended and the terms reviewed.
